1st World Conference of TPOs – Cartagena, Colombia, 1996
The 1st World Conference of Trade Promotion Organizations (TPOs) in Cartagena in 1996 gathered together representatives from TPOs from five continents and 44 countries. The Conference was the initiative of Proexport Colombia.
The enthusiastic response of the participants highlighted the need to identify joint mechanisms to promote exports efficiently and dynamically in the 21st century.
The conference unanimously agreed to meet regularly to discuss issues of importance to TPOs.
